Baldur’s Gate 3 Developer Larian Studios Opening New Studio in Warsaw

In a new post on Twitter/X today, Larian Studios confirmed that it is opening a seventh studio located in Warsaw.

Larian plans to reveal more about Larian Studios Warsaw, including job openings, during the Digital Dragons event beginning today. The devs appear very interested in adding new talent to the Warsaw studio.

Larian Studios explains that it’s the right time to grow the team “with two very ambitious RPGs now starting development.”

Larian officially confirmed it began work on two new games last April, in a new community post. However, the devs consistently make it clear they are not interested in developing new material for Baldur’s Gate.

Despite the enormous success of Baldur’s Gate 3, the devs confirmed they will not work on DLC or a sequel during a GDC panel.

This will surely disappoint fans of the popular RPG. However, Hasbro did announce in April that it’s still interested in making another Baldur’s Gate game, even without Larian. In an interview, Hasbro’s Eugene Evans added that “we’re going to take our time and find the right partner.”

Larian Studios Warsaw will likely work on original IP, and the new studio marks a major opportunity as the industry continues to face layoffs.

Both large and small developers, such as Mighty Kingdom, recently reduced employees. Last month, GTA 6 publisher Take-Two announced it would lay off 5% of its workforce and cancel anticipated games.
