Bayonetta 3: Release Date, Leaks, and All We Know

Bayonetta is an action-adventure game series by PlatinumGames. PlatinumGames initially released the first game in 2009, followed by its sequel in 2014. In 2017, the developers then showed us a teaser trailer of the sequel, which, unfortunately, up until today, has not yet been released. Here’s everything we know about Bayonetta 3: Release Date, Leaks, and everything else!

Bayonetta 3: Release Date

During the Nintendo Direct September 2021, Nintendo announced and debuted the first gameplay trailer of the game with a vague release date of 2022. After almost a year of no updates, finally, Nintendo announced the release date of Bayonetta 3, which is October 28, 2022. This news is in-line with the leak we received from SyluxHunter2.

Bayonetta 3 will be entirely a Nintendo Switch-exclusive game. Before the acquisition of Nintendo, Sega published the original Bayonetta game on the Playstation 3 and the XBOX 360 in 2009, and in 2017, we finally saw the PC port of the game.

Back in 2018, Nintendo further shut down any rumors regarding them releasing their games on other consoles. This statement means that we’ll never see the light of Nintendo-exclusive games for other consoles, and we will have to rely on emulators (on PC) to play their games.

Viola will be a playable character in this sequel. She uses a sword along with her cat, Cheshire. Viola also seems to be related to Luka, but we’ll have to wait for the full release of the game to confirm. Some returning characters are in the trailer as well, such as Jeanne, Rodin, Enzo, and Luka.

That’s everything that Nintendo revealed to us in the latest trailer. Lastly, we can at least confirm that Tokyo and China are some of the locations that the player will visit; however, there may be even more.

Bayonetta 3: Gameplay

For anyone who doesn’t know, Bayonetta is an action hack-n-slash game similar to that of Devil May Cry. It uses outrageous situations to amplify the main premise, which includes Umbral Witches fighting angels and demons in hell, heaven, and the real world.

Demon Slave Battle
Bayonetta uses her new skill called Demon Slave to fight against another giant monster.

The game will further expand upon the mechanics of the previous franchise entries. Fan favorite attacks return, such as Witch Time, Torture attacks, and Wicked Weaves. Bayonetta can now unleash multiple Torture Attacks at once to maximize her damage against enemies.

Bayonetta will also get new skills, such as the Demon Masquerade, which allows the Witch to disguise herself as a Demon. Lastly, Demon Slave, wherein you take control of massive demons, is somewhat similar to a summon battle in Final Fantasy 12 and 13.

Bayonetta 3 is definitely a game to look forward to, especially if you have a Nintendo Switch. Are you hyped up and excited about the game? Please leave us your thoughts in the comments section!
