BGMI Airdrops: Items, Locations, How to Secure & More

One of the most sought-after features in Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is the airdrops. These are supply crates that descend from the sky, and they hold valuable loot and provide an adrenaline-fueled race for survival. This article will explore what BGMI airdrops are, when and how they appear, strategies for safely reaching them, and the rewards they offer.

Notably, in BGMI, airdrops are randomly distributed throughout the match. As the game progresses, the airdrops become more frequent and tend to contain higher-tier loot, enticing players to take greater risks to claim them. Players can also find and use flare guns to call for an airdrop to their location.

What are BGMI Airdrops?

Airdrops are cargo containers filled with powerful weapons, equipment, and other valuable supplies that are delivered to the battleground by aircraft. During a random point on its flight path, a crate will be dropped from the plane, its descent will be slowed down by a single large parachute. Once it hits the ground, a red smoke flare will be activated. These crates hold the potential to significantly enhance a player’s chances of success, making them highly desirable and sought-after. However, they also serve as a magnet for players seeking a firefight, creating intense battles for control over the precious loot they contain. The airdrop contains the following weapons and items:

  • AWM

  • Mk14

  • Groza

  • Lynx AMR

  • Aug A3

  • 4x ACOG Scope, albeit with a lower probability

  • 8x CQBSS Scope

  • Suppressor (AR, DMR, S12K),

  • Suppressor for Snipers

The only piece of clothing that has a chance of appearing in an airdrop is the following suit:

  • Adrenaline Syringe

  • Medical Kit

Note that the above-mentioned weapons can only be exclusively found in these airdrops in BGMI. They are not found in the ground loot.

Locating Airdrops in BGMI

Locating airdrops requires awareness and careful observation. Here are some tips to help you find them:

  • Visual Cues: Keep an eye on the sky for the incoming cargo plane, which indicates the general area where the airdrop will descend. The plane’s flight path can provide valuable information about the potential location of the airdrop. Also, have a lookout for flares. A red flare means a random airdrop and a yellow flare means a player has called for an airdrop.

  • Listen for Audio Clues: The Cargo plane makes a sound while traveling its flight path. Hence players should be alert for such sound cues in order to locate the airdrop before other players.

  • Use Scopes: Equip your guns with scopes that have a higher zoom to scan the horizon for the airdrop’s distinctive red or yellow smoke from flare drops. This visual cue can help you spot the crate even from a distance. This can give the players an idea about the distance it is from them and formulate a strategy to loot the airdrop.

Safely Navigating to Airdrops in BGMI

Reaching an airdrop can be a perilous endeavor, as they attract both attention and danger. Here are some strategies to improve your chances of safely obtaining the loot:

  • Assess the Situation: Before committing to chasing an airdrop, evaluate your current position, the surrounding terrain, and the potential threats nearby. Consider factors such as the distance you need to cover, the presence of enemies, and your available resources. Many teams use airdrops as bait to get more kills, hence assessing the situation is required before looting it.

  • Use Vehicles Wisely: Vehicles can provide quick transportation to the airdrop’s location but also make you an easy target. Assess the risk versus reward of using a vehicle and decide accordingly. Utilize cover and move swiftly to avoid being an easy target.

  • Coordinate with Teammates: If you’re playing in a squad or duo, coordinating with your teammates is vital. Assign roles and communicate effectively to maximize your chances of safely reaching the airdrop. Cover each other and maintain situational awareness at all times.

However, it’s important to remember that airdrops are not only a source of valuable loot but also a magnet for intense battles. Competing players often converge on airdrops, leading to firefight situations. Thus, players must balance the desire for powerful loot with the risks involved in claiming an airdrop. Mastering the art of securing airdrops in BGMI can greatly enhance a player’s chances of success and add an exciting element to the gameplay. So, keep a sharp eye, listen for audio cues, coordinate with your team, and strategize your approach.
