BGMI: Akop From Orangutan Claims the Game Set to Return With Indian Publisher; All We Know

Battlegrounds Mobile India, more popularly known as BGMI was pulled from the Google Play store and Apple’s App Store in India in July. The Indian government issued an order to ban the game. This was followed Krafton’s head of corporate development Anuj Tandon’s exit from the company this month. Although these came as a shock to the BGMI community, fans of the game can heave a sigh of relief if what AKOP from Orangutan Gaming has said turns out to be true.

As spotted by MySmartPrice, AKOP recently said on Instagram Live that he received an exclusive scoop about BGMI’s return in India. Apparently, he got the information when he attended Valorant’s recent launch event for Harbor, which was held in Mumbai. The player said that BGMI will return to India, with a new Indian publisher.

“The game [BGMI] will launch again in India soon,” AKOP said. “But its publisher will be different. The publisher is one of the biggest companies in India.”

He also added that the game could come as soon as next year.

In the same Instagram live session, he was also asked by fans about Free Fire’s status in India. He said that he heard some things about the game as well in the same Valorant event and that there’s things being done behind the scenes to relaunch the game in India.

It would be interesting to see how it fares for games and BGMI and Free Fire and if they could be relaunched in India without facing the ban hammer from the government again.
