Black Adam Deleted Post Credits Scene Teased the Future of This Character; DC Arrowverse Future Up in the Air Following Stargirl Season 4 Cancellation
DC finally got on track to have a cohesive film universe, following the release of Black Adam last month. Featuring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the imposing Teth-Adam, the film garnered good responses from fans and critics alike.
While fans enjoyed the action involving Black Adam, there were other reasons to be excited about the film, which included the introduction of the Justice Society of America. Featuring members like Atom Smasher and Hawkman, fans are now intrigued to see how they will return in future DC films.
While the film never teased what to expect from the JSA, a deleted post credits scene seems to reveal the future of one of the members in Doctor Fate.
According to The Direct, fans would have seen two post credits scenes, which includes the massive Henry Cavill as Superman cameo. In the deleted scene, a mysterious figure picks up the Helmet of Fate, which seems to suggest that a new character would take upon the mantle following the sacrifice of Pierce Brosnan’s Kent Nelson.
The most obvious answer regarding the mysterious character would be Khalid Nassour, who became the second Doctor Fate after Nelson in DC Comics. And it will be interesting to see if the DCEU has any plans to introduce the character in a future JSA film.
While the DC film universe seems to be flourishing, the same can’t be said about the TV universes headed by the Arrowverse on the CW. Following the network’s acquisition by Nexstar, the number of DC projects has massively decreased in the past few months.
Currently, the channel features Superman & Lois alongside the final season of The Flash, which arrives next year. Furthermore, there won’t be more Stargirl in the future, as the network also announced the show’s end following the conclusion of Season 3.
When asked about the prospects of DC on the CW in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Brad Schwartz, the new Entertainment Producer of CW, stated that he doesn’t know yet, which should be concerning for fans of the Arrowverse.
