Dr DisRespect Deadrop: Midnight Society developer states he is happy OTK and 100 Thieves are following their lead in creating game titles

During a recent press conference about Deadrop, popular eSports journalist Jake Lucky posed a question to the Midnight Society developers, asking them how they felt about the competition from other organizations like OTK and 100 Thieves, since they were also developing their own game titles.

“It seems like a lot of people in the gaming space want to make their own games too. We got OTK, we got 100 Thieves, and we got Doc and his team too. So how do you guys compare yourselves to all the competition going on right now?”

While Creative Director Quinn DelHoyo responded saying that they were not comparing themselves to any other organization, Midnight Society developers had a different take on the situation. Responding to the question, a Deadrop developer clarified that they were happy that other organizations were entering the sphere and creating their own games. He claimed that Midnight Society did not aim to capture the market on creator games and simply wanted to venture into a field nobody had explored before.

“We got in this to change the industry. We expected it to take a while. The fact that people are already starting to do what we started six months ago, I love to see it.”

He even went on to state that he was sure other organizations would create different and better games. However, he stated that their success would be because they would be doing what Midnight Society started: opening up their games for the community earlier.

“We’re not trying to corner the market on that. We’re trying to change the industry so everybody does it. So, I love that those other people are following in our footsteps. Let them do it! They’re gonna make a different game than us and that game is gonna be better because they did what we’re doing now and opening it up.”

Fans react to this response by Midnight Society developers

Most fans were extremely pleased with this response by Midnight Society developers, stating that this attitude is what took them to the top.

100 Thieves announced its video game, Project X, earlier this year, back in May 2022. However, not much was revealed about the game since then. OTK, on the other hand, are currently developing an indie game called Project Saturn, and announced earlier today that they would be revealing more details soon. Now, with Midnight Society revealing more and more about Deadrop, it seems like the gaming community had a lot to look forward to in the upcoming months.
