Genshin Impact Version 3.4 “The Exquisite Night Chimes” will arrive on January 18. It will bring the annual celebration of Lantern Rite to Teyvat, as well as a music festival, Paper Theater performance and mini-games like Radiant Sparks.
Inazuma will also feature two new competitions such as the Warrior’s Spirit contest, which will include traditional Inazuman sword techniques, and Beetle Brawl, where players can channel their inner Itto by duelling with their Onikabuto. The Inazuman festival will feature an exhibition match between a “special guest” and Kamisato Ayaka in her new outfit.

Two new characters will also become playable in this update. Alhaitham, who is a 5-star sword wielder, and Yaoyao, a 4-star polearm wielder. Both have Dendro Visions, by the way. As this is the Lantern Rite, of course, Xiao will also get a rerun in the first half of Version 3.4. In the second half, Hu Tao and Yelan will get their reruns.
New desert area in Sumeru
New lands to explore will also come in the game, as Sumeru will get the Desert of Hardamaveth area in this update. This desert is home to a perpetual tornado and long-lost ancient remains that have been uncovered by sandstorms. Travellers will embark on a quest to find the lost Orchard of Pairidaeza, also known as the Eternal Oasis, where legend has it that time has been frozen in commemoration of the Goddess of Flowers.
Genius Invokation TCG updates
Genius Invokation TCG will feature a limited-time game mode. A special rule will be added, where you skip the Roll Phase and obtain eight Omni Dice directly. Klee and Beidou cards are also coming to the update.
Lantern Rite event
The Lantern Rite will provide players the chance to obtain 10 plus 3 Intertwined Fates, a four-star Liyue character, and Lisa’s new outfit.
The Radiant Sparks minigame during the Lantern Rite will be a racing game where players can become part of a rising fireworks display.
