Ghatak states GodLike Esports’ BGMI players are not focusing on the game enough
The government of India suspended BGMI in July 2022 under Section 69A of the IT Act 2000. After that, many players and teams stopped practicing and playing BGMI scrims due to the lack of a proper esports ecosystem. Many players and teams have resumed playing scrims with the recent positive news developments surrounding BGMI. However, GodLike Esports, one of the strongest BGMI teams, has shown a mediocre performance.
Talking about this, Ghatak said, “Our players are not focussing enough. They have to get back on track. If they don’t get back on track, it will be bad for their future. I have noticed that we are doing a lot of things wrong.”
One of Ghatak’s viewer’s asked him why GodLike Esports’ players are not streaming. He responded, “They need to understand that they must stream. They have gotten comfortable with life. They have started to earn ample income and everything, so the dedication they had for the game, I don’t see it anymore.” Following this, he said that he had been analyzing their matches for the last ten to fifteen days, and they are showing a mediocre performance. “I don’t understand what mindset they are playing with,” he added.
Another viewer told Ghatak that if players continue doing this, they might get outdated in the community with increasing competition. He said, “Exactly! If they continue doing the same, I will change the players that I feel are not working hard enough.”
Ghatak states that he will bench players or make a new team if players don’t show seriousness
In another stream, a viewer asked him if there was any issue with the roster. Responding to it, Ghatak said, “I don’t know what the issue is. They take their phones, join the scrim room, and start looking for a team to take a fight with. They don’t focus on the fights, and lose them. After that they start using WhatsApp and all on their mobile phones. Previously they used mobile phones to play games, now they use it for passing time. I don’t know what they are doing. At this point, I have even stopped asking them.”
Following this, Ghatak made some bold statements. “If I see players going out of the track, no issue, we’ll make a new team. It doesn’t matter, we’ll make a better team than this one if they don’t have any seriousness at all,” he said. He added, “Those who want to listen, they will listen; those who want to move ahead in their life. Those who want to work hard to achieve the things we discussed initially when we started playing the game – winning an international trophy, they will work hard, and the ones who don’t work hard will be benched.”
