IO Interactive’s Project 007 Might Not Launch Till March 2025
IO Interactive is the studio that is currently working on a brand new James Bond game. They announced it officially in 2020 through their website which has an entire webpage dedicated to the game. Along with that, a vague teaser was also dropped.
Project 007 is Still Far Away
While we don’t know much about the game, one thing confirmed is that it is very far away. According to a recent financial year report by IO Interactive, Project 007 isn’t getting released anytime before March 2025.
According to the financial report, IO has that their main source of revenue for the last 2 years has been Hitman 3. The game has proved to be such a good business that it has helped IO to form a solid base in 2022 as well. Moreover, the game’s inclusion in Game Pass has also generated a lot of profit.
Despite this, IO only has one-way revenue so the profits have generally been down. Also, their upcoming projects, Project 007 and Project Dragon are parts of massive franchises and huge scopes. Considering this the budget for the next 2 financial years is quite low implying that we won’t see the new games till at least 2025.
What do We know about Project 007 So Far?
IO Interactive will both develop and publish the game. They’re already well-known for the Hitman series and if we are being honest we really can’t think of a better name to develop a James Bond game.
Eurocom was the developer of the last 007 Project that launched about 10 years ago. Though the game will take the series name it will be a fresh new take on our favorite detective (The name’s Bond, James Bond). The game most likely won’t be called ‘007’ as it is just the working title.
According to the official webpage: ‘Featuring a wholly original Bond story, players will step into the shoes of the world’s favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story.‘
That honestly is all we know about the game as of yet. We really hope we see some news on the game from IO Interactive soon despite it being quite far at this stage. Even a brief first look at Bond himself will satisfy the hunger of 007 fans who have craved years for a good enough game.
