BGMI developers Krafton India will soon be making some major waves in 2023, as the company looks for more avenues to have its handprints on.
According to Krafton India CEO Sean Hyunil Sohn, the the industry giants have some huge aspirations when it comes to the gaming community in the subcontinent. Hyunil Sohn said, “India is rapidly developing into a gaming hub and in 2022 the country has become the largest consumer of mobile games with 15 billion downloads.” Furthermore, he also claimed that the company projects growth of “over 20% in FY23 and onwards.”
Additionally, the Krafton India CEO has also teased about the gaming company’s push into the world of metaverse and Web 3.0. “In 2023, we will continue to accelerate our focus in the field of metaverse and Web 3.0 to build ecosystems and provide unique gaming experiences for users,” stated Hyunil Sohn.
Krafton India’s entry into the deeper territories of the Web3 space confirms its confidence in the technology and its place in the future of gaming. While many gaming fans will have negative reactions over this move, it will be interesting to see if the company can win most of them if not all of them with its future projects.
In the end, Hyunil Sohn shared that Indian gamers should expect to see some exciting times ahead, despite a rocky 2022 for the gaming giants, which saw the ban of its popular mobile title, BGMI. “We remain committed to the India market and will continue to launch new titles and work with our partners to further the vision of a holistic gaming ecosystem in India,” said the Krafton India CEO.
