Leaks Reveal Genshin Impact’s Version 2.7 Might get Delayed
Genshin Impact has just released their latest patch for the game, 2.6, but as the story for every free to play game goes, all fans are looking forward to what will be introduced in the next update. The next update is the Genshin Impact 2.7 patch and it is anticipated to bring a plethora of new content to the game. According to a recent leak, it seems that this update’s release date will be postponed.
The leak comes from a Reddit post that translates an article from a Chinese forum called Bilibili. According to the post, there are several details that have been enlisted, one of which includes the reason for the delay of the upcoming patch. Genshin Impact updates follow the trend of releasing every 45 days, therefore the upcoming release is assumed to be in the month of March.
But Mihoyo has not officially announced any release day for the 2.7 patch and the Reddit post explains the reason for that. In the Reddit post by u/Ka_Minn it says that the next update will be delayed due to the COVID situation that is being faced by China right now, which is where the developer for the game is based out of.
Other statements were as follows, “The announcement in CN Genshin Impact (BiliBili) has Liben event in it with the date from 5/06 to 5/13 (which is right after the leyline event that is supposed be the last event of ver 2.6), The teapot event (where you cook a dish, and gift it to your characters in teapot has been cancelled), EN Genshin Impact (Twitter) does not mention 2) as well’. [RUMOR] Rampant discussions appearing about the possibility of 2.7 being delayed by 2 – 3 weeks due to the severity of the Covid situation in Shanghai.
Rumors of this delay containing a short filler banner are also floating around, but this claim has less support than the first.

The above tweet also discusses the possible delay of the Genshin Impact 2.7 patch. The reason for the delay has been thought to be the ongoing lockdown in Shanghai. The tweet also mentions that Mihoyo might release a filler banner as a stopgap for the postponement of the upcoming update.
