Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning - Part 1 Trailer Includes Tom Cruise's Most Wild Stunt Yet and More

Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning will be the conclusion to Ethan Hunt’s story, and it has been divided into two parts. Part 1 releases in July 2023 and fans can be sure that they will see Tom Cruise entering the most dangerous of situations ever. Every Mission Impossible movie has seen Tom Cruise achieving the impossible through his stunts and skills. It seems that he has taken it to the next level with his latest stunt in the upcoming Mission Impossible movie.

Paramount Pictures has released a new video on YouTube, titled: The Biggest Stunt in Cinema History. The video shares the Behind the Scenes (BTS) around one of the most dangerous and audacious stunts in the upcoming Mission Impossible film. The video starts off with an overhead view of a bridge in Hellesylt, Norway. Tom Cruise can be heard through the voice over, stating this is by far the most dangerous stunt they have attempted. He then goes on to describe the stunt, where he has to motorcycle jump off a cliff into base jump.

The video then goes to showcase all the training the Mission Impossible actor had to go through to perform a stunt of this level. It started off with free fall training which Cruise mastered by practicing with up to 30 jumps a day. Cruise then went on to train to improve his motorcross skills to make 70–80-foot leaps. The experts also kept speaking about Cruise’s sense of spatial awareness and prowess coming into these skills.

The goal with this stunt was to provide as much thrill to the audience as they could. Tom Cruise performed over 500 skydives in order to master his free-falling skills and over 13,000 motorcross jumps to get ready for this stunt. They then built a replica of the ramp in a quarry in England. The movie crew used this replica to get all the camera angles in perfect position for the stunt. As part of this segment, the video highlighted the technical aspects that went around planning and executing the stunt of this magnitude.

We then finally got to see the stunt in action, with Tom Cruise suited in all black. He rode the bike across the ramp and jumped off into this mesmerising (and dangerous) landscape filled with mist. For a split second everyone thought something had gone wrong, but that wasn’t the case at all as Cruise’s parachute emerged through the mist. He performed the same stunt a total of 6 times on that day. Check out the full video below:

Top Gun 3: Tom Cruise could be too busy for the film, details

Tom Cruise may be too busy to shoot the next entry in the Top Gun series. Through an interview with THR (via Screenrant), Top Gun Producer, Jerry Bruckheimer has stated that his focus at the moment is Mission Impossible 8 and only after that finishes can they have a conversation about Top Gun 3.

But his schedule does not stop there as he is also booked to travel to space for an upcoming untitled Universal Movie. So, there is a possibility that we will not see the Maverick in the next Top Gun movie.
