Mortal may Compete in Unofficial BGMI Tournaments if Game is Unblocked

During a recent stream, popular Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) content creator Naman “MortaL” Mathur was asked about the possibility of the old Team SouL lineup, which he was a part of, returning to the competitive scene if the game is unblocked. MortaL indicated that while they may not be able to compete in official tournaments, they may consider participating in casual tournaments for fun. He also expressed a desire for the game to return, stating that he misses the excitement and competition of LAN events and competitive matches.

Mortal says old S8UL may scrim and participate in unofficial tournaments

MortaL has been streaming the ongoing PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) on his YouTube channel and interacting with his chat quite often. In one such instance of interaction, MortaL delved into the potential of the old S8UL lineup (including the likes of Yash “Viper” Soni and Aman “AMAN” Jain) returning to compete in official BGMI tournaments if the game makes a return.

M0rtal explained that the team will not be able to compete in official tournaments. “The scrims are fine, but we cannot play in the official tournament as Omega, and the team will compete there. However, of course, we might play in unofficial tournaments,” he said.

Before the game was blocked from the Play Store and the Apple Store, Team S8UL won the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series – Season 1 with a lineup featuring Sahil “Omega” Jakhar, Harsh “Goblin” Paudwal, Sohail “Hector” Shaikh, and Akshat “AkshaT” Goel. It also had good performances in the BGMI Masters Series and the Battlegrounds Mobile India Showdown 2022.

So MortaL’s desire to keep Team S8UL’s roster intact is certainly understandable. Besides, MortaL is much more focussed on becoming a content creator for the organization and expanding its reach through various other verticals which are not limited to competitive gaming.

During the stream, a fan also reminded MortaL about past LAN events and competitive matches in which he and his team, Team SouL, were participating. In response, MortaL expressed a sense of nostalgia for those events and stated that he misses them. He also expressed a desire for BGMI to return, saying that playing in those competitive matches and LAN events was “a whole another level feeling”.
