The renowned Kingslayers RSG Philippines (PH) took down the King of Kings RRQ Hoshi in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2022 with a clean sweep in the Grand Finals match. The RSG PH squad claimed their sweet revenge against the Indonesian (ID) team RRQ Hoshi that had dropped them to the lower bracket playoffs. This is the third time a PH squad has dominated the MSC esports event and the sixth consecutive inter-regional MLBB title for the region. After silencing the doubters, RSG PH’s star EXP Laner Nathanael “Nathzz” Estrologo delivered a snappy comeback statement for the haters through a post match press conference.
RSG PH is the champion of MSC 2022
The first grand finals game was a sight to behold. Just when RRQ Hoshi was about to close the game with a solid performance, RSG PH pulled off an impressive base defense at the 14-minute mark. This sudden shift in momentum tipped the favor in the PH squad’s side and snatched the first game victory from the hands of the ID team.
RRQ Hoshi remained resilient in the second game. While the ID squad had the advantage in the late game, RSG PH slowly gained momentum thanks to Nathzz exceptional Masha gameplay. The EXP Laner pressured RRQ Hoshi which eventually led to a three-man wipe out at the 25-minute mark, allowing RSG PH to spearhead and close the second game with a win.
With RRQ Hoshi losing its steam, RSG PH spearheaded the third and fourth game to close the series with a flawless victory. The Kingslayers will go home as the new Kings of Southeast Asia (SEA).
Nathzz responds to doubters and toxic fans
Through a post-match press conference, RSG PH’s EXP Laner Nathzz explained the reason why he did his celebratory pose as he clutched the MSC 2022 trophy when he was in stage.
After laughing, the EXP Laner stated that “we just proved them [the doubters] wrong.”
He further added that “Just keep on bashing, that’s all you can do. What can we say? We’re the champions. I though RRQ [Hoshi] was supposed to be the champion? Why are we now the champion?”
RSG PH performed a solid performance in the MSC 2022 with five series wins and only one loss in the tournament. As the new Kings of SEA, the Kingslayers will now likely turn its eyes towards the M4 World Championship and add another international title to its name.
