In a new post on Twitter/X, Sean Murray teased the new Adrift expedition for No Man’s Sky, including various details and a gameplay trailer.

Murray elaborated in a post via Xbox, which confirms that Adrift will be “free to existing players,” across all platforms.

Adrift features a uniquely abandoned galaxy, an alternative universe where players will feel alone. The traditional “space stations, trading posts and alien traders” will be absent.

Exclusive rewards coming to Adrift will include a “gnawing scuttler companion, a supply of starship stealth paint, a ghostly frigate, and the unique Iron Vulture starship.”

The new trailer and Murray’s posts do not confirm an exact release date and time. However, it will be available “later this week,” leaving either May 30 or May 31, 2024. Further, the Xbox post does reveal that Adrift “will run for approximately seven weeks.”

The most recent No Man’s Sky additions include the Orbital update, and the enormous Omega update. Omega even gave players a free trial, welcoming new players and adding a tremendous amount of new content. Adrift cleverly subtracts the familiar while continuing to give players something truly fresh.

Last February, Murray also posted a cryptic tease that implied No Man’s Sky could get at least four more updates.

This leads up to the developer’s next project, Light No Fire. Hello Games announced Light No Fire at The Game Awards 2023, and quickly became one of the most anticipated reveals from the event.
