Popular Streamer Kizz Under Fire For Allegedly Supporting Myanmar’s Military Junta


Team Secret issued an official statement to address Myanmar fans’ complaints about one of its former brand ambassadors for PUBG Mobile, Thet “Kizz” Hnin Swe Zin. The content creator was spotted alongside celebrities like San Yati Moe Myint, travel blogger Su Wai Go, and DJ Y3llo, who have been labeled pro-junta by those opposed to its rule according to Coconuts Yangon.

Following an outrage on social media, Team Secret’s CEO John Yao clarified that Kizz was only a former ambassador of the organization, and that he does not represent the esports organization. Nonetheless, John Yao stated that the esports organization has reached out to Kizz and is currently investigating the situation.

Team Secret issues a statement regarding its affiliation with Kizz

Amidst the political crisis in Myanmar, the streamer and content creator, Kizz, has been boycotted by fans due to her allegedly joining a gathering of minor celebrities who were labeled pro-military junta supporters.

Fans shared , asking Team Secret to remove Kizz from its list of Myanmar Brand Ambassadors. Following this, Team Secret’s CEO John Yao issued an official statement on 6th April, clarifying that Kizz is currently not affiliated with the esports organization. “I want to be clear that our project together has concluded last month, and we’re in the process of reviewing the next steps during this current period,” he said.

The post also assured fans that the esports organization has reached out to the parties involved to gain more information regarding the situation. “Rest assured we condemn violence and will stand with the people of Myanmar always,” said Team Secret’s CEO.

Team Secret is not the only esports organization that has stated its opposition against the military rule implemented in Myanmar from Feb 2021. One of the most popular Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports organizations in Myanmar, , has also actively expressed its disapproval of the military coup.
