Revenant Esports and Marcos Gaming to compete at the Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League Finals

The Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions India Qualifier, hosted by Skyesports, was held over a period of one month, from 8th January to 19th February. The tournament boasted a massive prize pool of $8,500 USD. Although Revenant Esports had a rough start in the group stage of the tournament, where it won one out of the four matches, it made a tremendous comeback in the Playoffs. It won elimination matches against Gods Reign, True Rippers, and S8UL Esports to make it to the Grand Final.

In the India Qualifier Grand Final, the team was up against Marcos Esports. However, it maintained its consistency and took down its opponent with a scoreline of 2-1 in an intense best-of-three series and became the champion of India.

Revenant will now fly down to Malaysia alongside Marcos Gaming to compete in the Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League Finals on 18th and 19th March. The stakes are high in the League Finals, with the winner of the tournament walking away with a grand prize pool of $30,000.

Rohit Jagasia, the founder and CEO of Revenant Esports, said, “We were one of the first Indian organizations to recognize the potential of Pokemon UNITE in the country and invested in it. After representing India last year in the World Championship, I am proud of our boys for qualifying for the Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League LAN Final in Malaysia despite faltering in the group stage. We are super pumped to have been able to represent our country twice in the same title, and we are highly committed to invest in Pokémon UNITE in the future as well.”

Jeet “Swifty” Kundra, Revenant Esports’ Pokémon UNITE team captain, said, “We had a really rocky start to the India qualifier and lost some crucial matches to finish in last at the group stage. Luckily, the tournament’s format allowed us to compete in the Playoffs as well. We returned to the drawing board, worked really hard, analyzed our mistakes, and completed a dream comeback. It feels really great to become the Indian champions again, and we look forward to representing the country in Kuala Lumpur.”

With both teams, Revenant Esports and Marcos Gaming, making it to the Grand Final of the India Qualifier, they have earned the opportunity to compete against the best teams from East Asia and Southeast Asia in the Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League Finals. It will be exciting to see how these two Indian teams perform on this international stage.
