Samsung Next-Gen 8K Odyssey Neo C9 Ultrawide Gaming Monitor Teased at AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series Desktop GPU Launch Event; All We Know
Last night saw the unveiling of the next-generation graphic cards from AMD in the Radeon RX 7000 series GPUs.
With the new RDNA 3 architecture, AMD is looking to up the level of performance it can provide with its graphic cards in comparison to NVIDIA GPUs. And judging by the cards’ price and performance, it seems like it will be the dawn of a new age in graphic card battles.
However, that wasn’t the only major gaming revolution teased at the AMD event, as Samsung pulled up with a surprise with regards to its next-generation gaming monitors.
During the event, AMD SVP & GM, Scott Herkelman shared an exciting look at new gaming monitors that will look to harness the power of the company’s new graphic cards. This includes the new DisplayPort 2.1 monitors that offer higher frame rates.
The executive further mentioned that the first DisplayPort 2.1 gaming monitor will be from Samsung. The South Korean manufacturers teased through the event that its next generation Samsung Neo Odyssey C9 will also be the world’s first 8K ultrawide gaming monitor with DisplayPort 2.1.
At the moment, Samsung’s highest range gaming monitor in the Odyssey Neo G9 comes with a resolution of 5K, and it costs nearly $2,300. With the new 8K model, expect the prices to be eye-popping, when it will be announced with more details at CES 2023, which takes place between January 5-8 in Las Vegas.
With the event arriving in less than 2 months, fans are intrigued to see what Samsung has up its sleeves with its next generation ultrawide gaming monitor, which will improve the level of immersivity in modern titles.
