In a recent livestream, Skylightz Gaming’s professional Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) player Saumya “Saumraj” Raj was watching the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2022 (PMGC 2022). During the livestream, one of his viewers asked if BGMI will allow global matchmaking, i.e., play with/against players from outside of India. Replying to the question, Saumraj revealed that it would be a good thing, but he thinks that BGMI should be only focused on India.

Saumraj states BGMI should be focused only on India

Along with India, many other countries have also banned PUBG Mobile, including Nepal, Jordan, China, Afghanistan, and more. Furthermore, a few other countries, like Bangladesh, Pakistan, and more, have also considered banning the game in the past. Talking about this, Saumraj replied, “PUBG Mobile is getting banned in a lot of countries. I have recently seen a lot of countries where the game is getting banned, or they are planning to do so.” Following this, he stated that the developers and publishers of the game are trying to find a solution for this issue and to prevent the game from getting banned. “So, the developers and publishers are trying to do something that will give a one-time solution for the game’s ban,” said Saumraj.

Commenting on global matchmaking in BGMI, Saumraj said, “It is a good thing if the game allows engagement across the world. But I think it should not happen.” Following this, he added, “BGMI should only be focused on India. Also, PUBG Mobile was better than BGMI. PUBG Mobile also had higher watching than BGMI. Whatever happens, will be for good. Let’s see.”

Amid the unavailability of BGMI, fans have been recently getting some positive news about the game’s return. In a recent Instagram live, Hrishav Bhattacharjee claimed the game would not feature global matchmaking right after its launch. “BGMI might not feature global matchmaking, as per the available information. Krafton will work on certain criteria put forward by the government of India,” he said. Following this, he added, “If everything goes right, Krafton will introduce global matchmaking in BGMI after six to seven months of the game’s launch.”
