Team SouL’s Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) coach Amit “Amit” Dubey recently claimed that the team had received an offer to play PUBG Mobile on the international stage. Although he stated that he wasn’t sure about the specifics of the offer, he added that the team had to move to another country just to participate in PUBG Mobile scrims and not the main esports league. Despite the allure of playing on the international stage, the organization ultimately decided to turn down the offer.
Team SouL refused to play PUBG Mobile on the international stage
In a recent livestream, a viewer asked Amit about the possibility of Team SouL’s BGMI roster participating in international PUBG Mobile tournaments, as the game is currently suspended in India. Responding to this, he revealed that the team had received an offer to play on the international stage in the past. “We received a similar offer once, maybe, sometime earlier. But something was different. I don’t know exactly what it was, but I heard that we received an offer once,” he said.
Amit clarified that the offer was not for playing in the main league but only for participating in the scrims. “But it was not about playing the main league, and they were calling us to play only the scrims. Only for playing scrims, I believe, we had to go to another country, so we denied it,” he said.
Team SouL has garnered immense popularity and has become one of the most recognizable names in the Indian mobile gaming community, owing to its exceptional skills in BGMI. The team, which was founded in 2019 by Naman “MortaL” Mathur, has established itself as a force to be reckoned with in the Indian gaming scene.
The current BGMI roster of Team SouL comprises of highly skilled players, including Harsh “Goblin” Paudwal, Sohail “Hector” Shaikh, Sahil “Omega” Jakhar, and Akshat “AkshaT” Goel, who have demonstrated their prowess in various tournaments.
Team SouL’s achievements in BGMI are nothing short of remarkable. The team has secured several accolades, including a first-place finish in the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series – Season 1 (BMPS) and an impressive 11th-place finish in the prestigious PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI) 2022.
