Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tokyo Game Show returned as an in-person event for the first-time last year. However, the concern surrounding new variants of the virus saw the event not be its old self. With restrictions surrounding the virus easing in Japan, more people can join TGS this year.
The first two days of the event will be Business Days, while the final two days will be touted as Public Days. Families can join in on the action with the returning Family Area, as restrictions around the admission of children under 12 are removed. Plus, for the first time in four years, the cosplay areas will be back as well.
Tokyo Game Show VR virtual experience will also make its appearance for the third year in a row, and interested people can experience the show for a week after the physical event’s conclusion.
