Two Norman Battle Units That You Should Be Using in Road to Valor: Empires

Road to Valor: Empires - All Roman Units Explained

South Korean video game holding Krafton’s Road to Valor: Empires is a real-time PVP strategy game where you can compete with players around the globe while commanding mythical gods, beasts, and heroes. Many figures in the Indian Gaming Community (IGC) have already expressed their beliefs that the game has the capability of becoming an esports title if given the right opportunity. The game is extremely intuitive and enables players to think on their feet quickly while using Guardians and battle units in their deck.

With that being said, many Road to Valor: Empires players have been talking about two Norman battle units in particular that are seemingly overpowered.

Sigurd and Fenrir in Road to Valor: Empires 

Guardians and Battle Units make the crux of Road to Valor: Empires and there are four factions to choose from. Players can choose between Roman, Persian, Norman, and Japanese Guardians and battle units to assemble their deck. Every faction has three Guardians and multiple battle units that you can slowly unlock and use in your deck.

Players should note that all the units, both Guardians and battle units, are not unlocked in the beginning. Some of them will be greyed out and as you level up, you can unlock them. 

In this guide, we will take a closer look at two battle units that are considered ‘overpowered’ by a majority of the players. Notably, both these units are Norman and they are as follows:

  • Sigurd (Epic Unit) 

  • Fenrir (Mythic Unit)

Here are the abilities of these two battle units:

Sigurd (Epic Unit)

Sigurd does fire attack on deployment.

Sigurd is the legendary warrior who tamed a dragon by force. Anyone who wishes to stand against Sigurd bears the dragon’s flame.


  • Inferno: At deployment, deals 124 damage to all units including ally units in a line.

  • Breath of Fire: Sigurd’s dragon belches out incredibly hot fire and deals a total of 744 damage over 10 times to all units including ally units in a line. [Cooldown: 15 sec]

  • Burn: For 5 sec, deals 21 burning damage every sec.

Fenrir (Mythic unit)

Fenrir is restrained and effective against all units in the game. Fenrir is a monstrous wolf that makes even the gods tremble in fear. 

  • Attack range: Melee

  • Attack radius: Extra Large

  • Movement speed: Very slow

  • Damage dealt: Area Damage

  • Unit Count: 1


  • Restraint: Restrained on deployment for 30 sec. Takes 50% more damage while restrained.

  • Freedom: When released from its restraints, Fenrir howls and strikes fear into nearby enemies.

  • Bite: Fenrir leaps forward and deals 943 damage. [Cooldown: 15 sec]

(The above-mentioned numbers are for Level 10 Fenrir)

Note that you will be able to upgrade your battle units using the ‘Upgrade’ option that you see when you click on a specific unit. When you upgrade, the HP and the attack damage of the unit will increase in Road to Valor: Empires. When your battle units are level 1, they will deal lesser damage.
