In the IND vs SA T20 World Cup 2024 Final match in Barbados, India won the toss and chose to bat first. Significant contributions from Virat Kohli (76 runs off 59 balls) and Axar Patel (47 runs off 31 balls) set a formidable target of 177 runs. Despite a strong effort, South Africa fell short, scoring 169 runs in their 20 overs.

Rohit Sharma expressed his desire to win the T20 World Cup trophy:
