Who is Egeria in Genshin Impact?

Egeria in Genshin Impact is one of the most recent mystery characters that has captured the attention and curiosity of players and enthusiasts alike in the community. The character was first introduced during a teaser trailer for the upcoming Fontaine update. However, unlike other characters, only her voice was revealed in the trailer and not her face. While a lot of theories have started circulating on who is Egeria in Genshin Impact, HoYoverse is yet to provide more information about the mysterious character. Considering her appearance in the Fontaine update teaser trailer, fans speculate that she may be tied to the Hydro Archon Furina. 

Egeria in Genshin Impact: Theories and what we know so far

Egeria in Genshin Impact was first seen during the “Overture Teaser: The Final Feast” video on 3rd July 2023 which gives players a quick glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming Fontaine update. The video revealed a plethora of new and interesting characters that may potentially be playable in the future.

However, out of all 12 characters that were revealed in the teaser trailer, Egeria was the only character that was not shown. Rather, only her voice was revealed as she served as the narrator in the trailer.

on Reddit suggest that Egeria may be a former Hydro Archon, Furina’s split personality, or simply her advisor. This is due to fans theorizing that the name is inspired by Egeria from Roman Mythology, the escort, and counselor of Numa Pompilius, the second king of Rome. Aside from being an advisor, she is also regarded as a Water Nymph which can be the reason why Egeria is part of the Fontaine region which is governed by the Hydro Archon, Furina. However, HoYoverse is yet to confirm any of the theories mentioned so fans should take this with a grain of salt.
