Day 1 of Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2024 The Grind Week 1 has concluded with upcoming teams dominating the event. Underdog teams like Rivalry Esports, Team Excellent 4 and DownHill Esports dominated Group 1 whereas Cratic Esports and Team Evoke shined in Group 2. The seasoned squads of Blind Esports and Orangutan also showed consistent performances. 

The event will see 256 teams competing for a spot in the BGIS 2024 main event.

BGIS 2024 The Grind Week 1 Day Match Summary

Match 1 Erangel: Rivalry Esports secured the first chicken dinner of BGIS 2024 The Grind with 14 points. Blind Esports grabbed the most points from the match, 20, of which 15 points came via finishes. Skipz from Blind Esports was the Most Valuable Player  (MVP) of the match with 6 finishes. Genesis Esports placed third and scored 14 points. T7S Esports placed fourth and got 9 points. Deadly Esports 4M placed fifth and got 8 points. MG Esports and DownHill Esports were eliminated early with 1 point each.

Match 2 Miramar: Team Excellent 4 secured a 14 point chicken dinner on the map of Miramar. Rivalry Esports continued its momentum and got the most points from the match, 17. MG Esports showed aggressive gameplay and placed third to get 14 points. MI7 placed fourth and scored 10 points. Blind Esports placed fifth and got 8 points. Darklord from Blind Esports was the MVP of the match with 5 solo finishes. T7S Esports, Deadly Esports 4M and DCent Esports were eliminated in the initial stages without any points.

Match 3 Sanhok: Blind Esports secured a 21 point chicken dinner. Darklord from Blind Esports secured back-to-back match MVP’s with 8 solo finishes. DownHill Esports placed second and scored 12 points. The Supari Gang placed third and got 11 points, 6 of which came via finishes. Team S7even placed fourth and got 9 points. MI7 continued its momentum from the last match and got 8 points. Genesis Esports and Team Five Chief were eliminated early with 1 point each.

Match 1 Erangel: Team Mayhem secured the first chicken dinner from Group 2 with 22 points. Amaan from Team Mayhem was the MVP of the match with 5 finishes. The upcoming squad of Team Evoke showed aggressive gameplay and got 20 points, 14 of which came via finishes. Team Unstoppables placed third and got 10 points. Cratic Esports placed fourth and scored 9 points. Mavericks placed fifth and got 7 points. Brothers Till Death was eliminated in the early stages with just a single point.

Match 2 Miramar: Cratic Esports secured a 19 point chicken dinner. Orangutan got the most points from the match, 23, of which 17 points came via finishes. Ankit “Akop” Gupta from Orangutan was the MVP of the match with 7 solo finishes. Team Hope placed third by making a comeback and got 8 points. Gladiators Esports placed fourth and scored 7 points. Team Evoke and Desync Esports placed fifth and sixth and got 6 points each. Megatron Gaming NE was eliminated in the initial stages without any points.

Match 3 Sanhok: Cratic Esports secured back to back chicken dinners with 28 points. Retreat from Cratic Esports was the MVP of the match with 8 solo finishes. Team Evoke placed second, continued its momentum and got 10 points. Orangutan and Desync Esports placed third and fourth and got 8 points each. Team Mayhem, ZH Reborn and Gladiators Esports placed fifth, sixth and seventh and got 7 points each. Mavericks, Version 9 and Adiyogi Gaming were eliminated in the early stages without scoring points.

Day 1 of the event was dominated by upcoming teams like Rivalry Esports, Team Excellent 4 and Cratic Esports along with the seasoned squad of Blind Esports and Orangutan. A few teams like DCent Esports, Team Five Chief and Zyroxtreme were unable to put forth consistent performance and were placed in the bottom of the points table with single digit points.
