Top 5 Biggest BGMI Tournaments of 2023

The 2023 Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) season has concluded with the BGMI Pro Series (BMPS) 2023 event. After BGMI was unbanned in May over a dozen third party tournaments were organized in the first two months with massive prize pools. The first official event of 2023 saw its Grand Finals being played on LAN, which was also the first BGMI LAN tournament. BGMS Season 2 2023 (INR 2.1 Crores): 

The Battlegrounds Mobile India Masters Series (BGMS) Season 2 2023 LAN event was one of the biggest events in BGMI with a prize pool of INR 2.1 Crores. The LAN event was also only the second BGMI event to be telecasted by one of the major sports broadcasters Star Sports.  

  • Gladiators Esports (Champions) – INR 1 Crore.

  • Orangutan (Runners Up) – INR 35 Lakhs.

  • Velocity Gaming (3rd Place) – INR 12.5 Lakhs

Prize Pool: INR 2.1 Crores

BGIS 2023 (INR 2 Crores):

Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023 was the first official event in 2023 after BGMI was unbanned in May. The tournament had a qualification event named BGIS 2023 The Grind along with the open qualifiers for upcoming teams. It was also the first official BGMI LAN event.

The BGIS 2023 event was also the first event where the lower bracket format was introduced to give the teams a second chance for qualification.

  • Big Brother Esports (Runners Up) – INR 37.5 Lakhs.

  • Team XSpark (3rd Place) – INR 25 Lakhs.

Prize Pool: INR 2 Crores

Skyesports Championship 5.0 (INR 1.25 Crores):

The Skyesports Championship 5.0 BGMI event saw a number of teams participating to compete for a massive prize pool of INR 1.25 Crores. It also had three qualification events named Skyesports Champions Series, Skyesports Skirmish Series Season 2 and the Skyesports Championship 5.0 Semi Finals through which the teams qualified for the main event. 

  • Blind Esports (Champions) – INR 48 Lakhs.

  • Revenant Esports (Runners Up) – INR 24 Lakhs.

  • OR Esports (3rd Place) – INR 12 Lakhs.

Prize Pool: INR 1.25 Crores

BMPS 2023 (INR 1 Crore):

The recently concluded Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2023 event was the final event of the BGMI 2023 season with a prize pool of INR 1 Crore. The event took place with the top 96 teams invited from the BGIS 2023 event. The event had LAN Grand Finals with thousands of live spectators turning up at the venue.

  • Blind Esports (Champions) – INR 40 Lakhs.

  • Gladiators Esports (Runners Up) – INR 20 Lakhs.

  • Team iNSANE (3rd Place) – INR 10 Lakhs.

Prize Pool: INR 1 Crore

India vs Korea Invitational (1 Crore):

The India vs Korea Invitational was a one of a kind BGMI event organized by Krafton where Korean teams were invited to compete against the top 8 teams from the BGIS 2023 event. It was the first time international teams were invited to play BGMI. The event also boasted a massive prize pool of INR 1 Crore. 

  • DPlus Kia (Champions) – INR 40 Lakhs.

  • Gods Reign (Runners Up) – INR 20 Lakhs.

  • Emtek StormX (3rd Place) – INR 10 Lakhs.

Prize Pool: INR 1 Crore

Overall 2023 was a big year for BGMI esports with back to back tournaments being organized with huge sums of money in the prize pools. Fans are already expecting an increase in prize pool and viewership for the 2024 season as the ecosystem has seen a significant growth since the game returned.
