BGIS 2024 In-Game Qualifiers: Dates, Format, Rules and More

The marquee Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) event of the year, BGMI India Series (BGIS) 2024 is ongoing and underdog teams who want to compete in the event will have to participate by playing the in-game qualifiers. Krafton, BGMIā€™s publisher, organizes in-game qualifiers for underdog teams before the start of BGIS each year and teams have to register themselves in order to play them. The BGIS 2024 main event boasts a prize pool of INR 2 Crores.

BGIS 2024 In-Game qualifiers detailed

Krafton has revealed that the in-game qualifiers for the BGIS 2024 event will commence from 15th April and will end on 21st April. Players who have registered their teams through the Krafton India Esports website are the ones who will be able to participate in the in-game qualifiers. Teams will be provided 15 matches, out of which the 10 best matches will be considered from which the top 1024 performing teams will advance to Round 1 of BGIS 2024.

Player Equipment:

The 4.1 rule in the BGIS 2024 Rulebook states that players may participate in tournaments or official competitions only on mobile phones or approved handheld devices. Players may not use peripheral devices of any kind without explicit written approval of tournament Officials (including tablets, adapters, controllers, Bluetooth keyboards, and mice). Players may not use an emulator to play on a PC or another device that is not a handheld device.

Player Apparel:

The 4.2 rule in the BGIS 2024 Rulebook states that after a player leaves the in-game lobby, his or her avatar must remain fully clothed in the game for the remainder of the match. Clothing exchanges for cosmetic purposes or comic effect are not permitted inside the game.

Points System

The 1024 teams in Round 1 of the BGIS 2024 event will be divided into 64 groups of 16 teams each and each group will play 3 matches from 2nd May to 5th May 2024.Ā 

Teams playing in the in-game qualifiers will have to show aggressive gameplay in order to have a chance to move to Round 1 of BGIS 2024. The new points system will only allocate 10 points for a chicken dinner and teams will have to grab at least 9 to 10 chicken dinners with a minimum of 20 to 25 finishes in each match of the in-game qualifiers.
