PUBG Mobile Esports reveals major changes for 2024 Season

The PMGC 2023 event’s Grand Finals are about to start and PUBG Mobile Esports has already gotten the fans excited with the news for the 2024 season. Ahead of the PMGC 2023 Grand Finals weekend it has been revealed that the PUBG Mobile Esports 2024 Season will bring a brand new event for the fans and will also incorporate new regions in its ecosystem.

James Yang, Senior Director of PUBG Mobile Global Esports, in a press conference, revealed the road map of the PUBG Mobile Esports 2024 Season. The changes are to affect all major regions and will change the face of the competition.

At the highest tier there are already two flagship events, PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) and another new and improved midseason tournament, which will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, serving as the next chapter of the PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI) event. These two events will be joined by a new event named PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO).

The PMGO event will take place in Brazil throughout the months of March and April 2024. The event also boasts a massive prize pool of $500,000 USD. The teams invited to the inaugural PMGO event will be the host region qualifier, regional PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL) qualifiers, and PMSL partnership teams.

The second tier of the 2024 Season will see PMSL expand into four more regions,  Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Americas and Central and South Asia. The Southeast Asia region will now have three seasons of PMSL for 2024, whereas EMEA (now a single league), the Americas, and Central & South Asia will have two each.

The third tier of the 2024 Season will feature PMSL regional qualifiers and will connect the amateur and semi-professional prospects with professional players. The fourth and final tier will include smaller regional leagues and tournaments, such as the PUBG Mobile Club Open (PMCO).

Before all the above mentioned changes are set into motion the PMGC 2023 Grand Finals event will take place from 8th to 10th December. The event has already seen some of the best teams in PUBG Mobile Esports getting eliminated in the early stages and some of the upcoming teams dominate the event.
