Who Is Thug?

Animesh “Thug” Agarwal is a very well known personality in the Indian Gaming Community (IGC). He is the founder and owner of Team 8Bit, a Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) team, and a co-owner of S8UL Esports, an organization boasting multiple content creators and streamers under its banner. He is also the founder and CEO of 8Bit Creatives, a talent management company, managing multiple gamers across India.

Thug’s journey in the Indian gaming industry

Thug first rose with his PUBG Mobile team, Team 8bit, in 2018 when he represented India at the PUBG Mobile All Star Challenge (PMSC) Asia Finals event where his team placed 12th. His team also became one of the first teams to secure a Winner Winner Chicken Dinner (WWCD) at the international stage. 

Thug’s career took a turn in 2019 when he transitioned from an esports athlete to an esports caster/commentator. He commentated on multiple PUBG Mobile events in India as well as on the international stage. He was also present at the Peacekeeper Elite 2019 event as a Hindi commentator.

In 2020, Thug moved away from normal gaming content and launched multiple podcasts with BGMI esports athletes, made guide videos and more. He collaborated with some of the well known people in the gaming community like Jonathan  “Jonathan” Amaral, Tanmay “Scout” Singh, Naman “Mortal” Mathur, Parv “Regaltos” Singh, Ghatak “Ghatak” Andhare and many more on his “Charcha with Thugwa” podcast series.

S8UL Esports

Thug collaborated with his fellow partners, Lokesh “Goldy” Jain and Mortal, Owner of Soul Esports and launched S8UL Esports. The S8UL Esports organization boasts a number of well known content creators under its banner including the likes of Kaashvi “Kaash” Hiranandani, Regaltos, Aman “Aman” Jain, Mithul “Binks” Nayak, Raj “Snax” Varma and many more. The organization also has a Pokemon Unite lineup.

In 2022, S8UL Esports received its first international nomination at the Esports Awards in the Content Group of the Year category and also went on to win the award, becoming the first Indian organization to secure an award for content creation at the international stage. In 2023, S8UL Esports also won multiple international awards including the award for Global Impact on Mobile Gaming at The Mobies and Content Creator of the Year award at the Esports Awards.

Thug’s Earnings

Thug has not been active on his Youtube Channel for more than a month now but has been actively livestreaming from the start of his career on a daily basis and uploading highlight videos. Currently, his Youtube Channel named boasts 1.05 Million subscribers. According to , his estimated earnings for his Youtube Channel is $79 USD to $1.3K USD a month.

Thug has also been a part of his fair share of controversies. He was at the center of events at the PUBG Mobile India Tour (PMIT) 2019 event when unrest arose between the event’s management and the players due to technical issues.
