How Did Gods Reign Secure Third Place in AFK Gaming’s BGMI Rankings?

Gods Reign is one of the veteran Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Esports organizations in India. The organization has been fielding a roster since 2018 and several young esports athletes have represented it over the years. Its BGMI team has performed consistently across various official and third party events but it is yet to win a major title.

Gods Reign put forth good performances in 2023 and as of 23rd December 2023 the team is placed third in the . In this article we will break down Gods Reigns’ performance in each month of 2023.

Gods Reigns’ journey in 2023

Gods Reign introduced its BGMI roster in 2023. It made a significant impact in BGMI and also dominated across various events like India vs Korea Invitational, BGMI India Series (BGIS) 2023, Skyesports Championship 5.0 and BGMI Masters Series (BGMS) Season 2 2023.

Owais, the current In Game Leader (IGL) of Gods Reign was added to the roster for the India – Korea Invitational event, but he went on to replace Robin “Robin” Singh Shekhawat ahead of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2023 as Robin was transferred to OR Esports.

The month of June was filled with third party events and Gods Reign played most of those events.

The team started the month on a good note securing the 5th spot in events like BGMI Pro Scrims and Upthrust Esports Survivors Saga Season 2. Its performance dipped from mid June onwards as it placed 11th and 10th in Novum Overpower Series Season 1 and Skyesports Champions Series respectively.

The month of June ended on a low as it again secured the 13th and 12th spots in the Global Esports Fight Night Pro Scrims and Upthrust Esports Challengers Showdown events.

Gods Reign’s performance in the start of the month helped it secure the 17th spot in the BGMI Team Rankings with a score of 0.75

The month of July was good for Gods Reign as it started the month with a couple of podium finishes but its performance in the latter half of the month dipped again. 

It started the month of July with a podium finish in the IQOO Pro Series event where it placed third. It simultaneously played the Nodwin BGMI Champions Cup but was not able to replicate the same performance and placed 9th in the event. 

Gods Reign played the Villager Esports Pro Invitational 2023 event and was crowned the champion which was also the only title it managed to attain in the year of 2023. It simultaneously played the Ranbhoomi Season 2 event but could not perform consistently and placed 9th.

It played two more events to end the month, India Today League Invitationals and Revenant Invitational Showdown, but was inconsistent throughout as it secured the 14th spot in both the events.

Due to its podium finish and victory in the two events played at the start of the month, Gods Reign climbed 13 ranks and was placed 4th with a score of 12.47.

Gods Reign played three events in the month of August but was unable to put forth consistent performance and secured the top 8 spot in only one of those events.

Gods Reign started the month by playing the Upthrust Esports Survivors Throne Season 4 event and placed 17th. It also played BGIS 2023 The Grind, which was the qualifying tournament for the BGIS 2023 main event. It placed 31st in the event and secured a slot in Round 3 of the BGIS 2023 main event. 

It played the BGMS Season 2 2023 event to end the month and its performance showed improvement but that was not enough as it placed 8th in the event.

Gods Reign’s performance in the month of August was poor due to which it was placed 5th with a score of 16.87 on the team rankings.

Gods Reign played only one event in the month of September and it was able to put forth a good performance in the event.

It played the Upthrust Esports Pro Showdown Season 2 event and placed 4th due to its consistent performance.

Although Gods Reign had a good performance in the only event it played in the month of September, it still slipped down 1 rank as other teams performed better. It was placed 6th with a score of 17.57 on the team rankings.

In the month of October, Gods Reign played two major BGMI events, BGIS 2023 and India – Korea Invitational.

Gods Reign performed consistently in the BGIS 2023 LAN Grand Finals and placed 5th in the event. Its best performance came in the India – Korea Invitational event where it showed aggressive gameplay against Korean teams and placed second.

Gods Reign’s performance in the BGIS 2023 LAN Grand Finals and the India – Korea Invitational event helped it climb 2 ranks and it placed 4th with a score of 57.87 in the team rankings.

The Gods Reign squad played three events in the month of November and showed consistent performances.

It played the Skyesports Championship 5.0 Grand Finals LAN event and placed in the 5th spot. It also played the Upthrust Esports Diwali Battle event and put forth good performances and secured the 6th spot.

Gods Reign’s consistent performance in the month of November helped it climb 1 rank and it was placed 3rd with a score of 61.17.

The month of December had only one tournament, the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2023 LAN Grand Finals.

Gods Reign was consistent throughout the three week league of BMPS 2023 but it wasn’t enough as it was unable to grab a slot in the Grand Finals LAN event as it missed the spot by a couple of points. 

Although Gods Reign did not qualify for the Grand Finals, it still maintained its 3rd spot with a score of 61.17.

Gods Reign has performed consistently across multiple third party and official events in 2023. Its performance in BGIS 2023, India – Korea Invitational and BGMS Season 2 2023 helped it secure the 3rd spot in the BGMI Team Rankings for 2023. The only major event where Gods Reign could not qualify was the BMPS 2023 event but it was one of the teams that showed aggressive gameplay with stellar consistency in 2023.
