Velocity Gaming Bids Farewell to Its BGMI Roster

Velocity Gaming is one of the renowned esports organizations in India. The organization had rosters in multiple esports titles such as Valorant, Players Unknown Battlegrounds (PUBG) New State and Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). It had recently announced its BGMI lineup and the roster looked like it was ready to dominate upcoming tournaments. But it has been revealed that Velocity Gaming has released its BGMI roster.

The lineup had a good mix of seasoned as well as young talented players. The roster had good performances in various third party tournaments but was eliminated from the ongoing Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023.

Velocity Gaming releases its BGMI roster

Velocity Gaming announced that it has parted ways with its BGMI roster. The organization made a post on Instagram to inform its fans about the roster’s departure and wished the players well in their future endeavors. Samir “Kratos” Choubey who acted as a coach for the team has also been let go from the team.

The roster consisted of the following players:

  • Ashutosh “Punkk” Singh.

  • Harsh “Immortal” Shrivastava.

  • Samir “Kratos” Choubey.

  • Aimbot.

  • Jazzy.

  • Krishh “Octavius”.

Velocity Gaming had added Jazzy to its roster just before the start of BGIS 2023 The Grind. The team had dominated the start of BGIS 2023 The Grind but achieved 47th place in the Grand Finals.

It was able to qualify for the BGIS 2023 main event through the open qualifiers. It started the BGIS 2023 main event by dominating Rounds 2 and 3 but a below average performance in Round 4 meant that it had to go through the Losers Bracket to qualify for the Semi Finals. The team failed to advance and was eliminated from the event.

Despite the fact that Velocity Gaming was eliminated from BGIS 2023, the release of its BGMI roster still came as a surprise. It was able to grab third place in the recently concluded Battlegrounds Mobile India Masters Series (BGMS) 2023 Season 2 which boasted a massive prize pool of INR 2.1 Crores and second place in third party events like the Omega Slayers (OS) Invitational Season 1 and Revenant Invitational Showdown.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Punkk led squad and whether Velocity Gaming acquires another team to represent it in upcoming BGMI tournaments.
