How Did Big Brother Esports Secure Fourth Place in AFK Gaming’s BGMI Rankings?

Big Brother Esports is one of the newer Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Esports organizations in India. The organization has been fielding a BGMI roster since the launch of the game and several young esports athletes have represented the organization over the years and some of them have also made a name for themselves through outstanding performances in official events.

Big Brother Esports put forth good performances in 2023 and as of 22nd December 2023 the team is placed fourth in the . In this article we will break down Big Brother Esports’ performance in each month of 2023.

Big Brother Esports’ journey in 2023

Big Brother Esports is one of the organizations known for supporting and providing opportunities to aspiring young athletes. It first made its mark in the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2022 event where it secured the 7th spot in the overall standings of the Grand Finals.

Kyoya was added to the Big Brother Esports’ BGMI roster before the start of Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2023.

This is how Big Brother Esports performed in each month of 2023:

The month of June was filled with third party events but Big Brother Esports only played two of those events. 

It first played the BGMI Pro Scrims event organized by Nodwin Gaming, but the team could not put forth good performances and placed 29th in the event. It went on to play the Global Esports Fight Night Pro Scrims and slightly improved its performance to place 16th in the event.

Due to its poor performance in the month of June, Big Brother Esports was not awarded any points and was placed 32nd with a score of 0.0.

Big Brother Esports improved its performance in the month of July. The team grabbed a podium finish and won one of the major events in this month. 

It started off the month by playing the Nodwin BGMI Champions Cup and secured the 8th spot in the event. Its performance in the following event, Global Esports Fight Night Season 5, was great as it secured a podium finish and grabbed the 3rd spot.

Its best performance came in the Skyesports Skirmish Series Season 2 where it was crowned the champion. It also played the India Today League Invitationals event, which was the last event of the month, and the team ended on a good note by finishing 5th in the event.

Due to its performance in the Skyesports Skirmish Series Season 2, Big Brother Esports climbed 20 ranks and was placed 12th with a score of 3.63 for the month of July.

The month of August had only two tournaments and Big Brother Esports put forth good performances in both the events, and even won one of them.

Big Brother Esports played the Upthrust Esports Survivors Throne Season 4  and showed aggressive gameplay to be crowned the champion of the event. 

The second event it played was the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023 The Grind, which was the qualifying tournament for the BGIS 2023 main event. It had a good performance and placed 19th from among the 256 participants in the event and also secured a spot in Round 3 of the BGIS 2023 main event. 

Although Big Brother Esports won one of the two events it played in the month of August, it still slipped 4 ranks due to other teams performing better and placed 16th with a score of 3.63 in the team rankings.

The Big Brother Esports squad played only one event in the month of September which was the Upthrust Esports Pro Showdown Season 2. It was able to put forth a good performance and secured the 3rd spot in the event.

Due to its performance in the Upthrust Esports Pro Showdown Season 2 event, it climbed 1 rank and moved to the 15th spot with a score of 4.83.

In the month of October, Big Brother Esports played two major BGMI events – BGIS 2023 and India Korea Invitational. 

Big Brother Esports’ performance in the BGIS 2023 LAN Grand Finals was fantastic as it secured the 2nd spot in the event. The team missed the title by just a couple of points. It then played the India – Korea Invitational but was not able to replicate the same performance and placed 14th in the event. 

Big Brother Esports’ performance in the BGIS 2023 LAN Grand Finals helped it climb 12 ranks and it placed 3rd with a score of 59.76 for the month of October.

The Big Brother Esports squad played three events in the month of November but there was a complete dip in its performance. 

It played the Skyesports Championship 5.0 Grand Finals LAN event and placed 11th. It also played the Upthrust Esports Diwali Battle event but was eliminated from the Semi Finals and was placed 22nd. 

Big Brother Esports’ poor showing in the month of November led to it being placed 4th with a score of 59.76.

  

The month of December had only one tournament, the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2023 LAN Grand Finals. 

The team was inconsistent throughout the three week league stage of the BMPS 2023 event and could not grab a place in the LAN Grand Finals as it placed 30th in the overall standings.

Although Big Brother Esports’ performance in the BMPS 2023 event was inconsistent it still maintained its spot in the AFK Gaming BGMI Team Rankings. It placed 4th with a score of 59.76 for the month of December.

Big Brother Esports was inconsistent in the initial events of 2023 but put forth good performances in some of the third party events. It is still placed in the top 5 of the AFK Gaming BGMI Team Rankings due to its performance in the BGIS 2023 event which had a massive prize pool. The only major event where Big Brother Esports could not qualify was the BMPS 2023 but it was one of the upcoming squads that showed a lot of potential in 2023.
