People Can Fly Cancel Project Dagger After Years Of Development

People Can Fly, the developer behind Bulletstorm and Gears of War: Judgement, have cancelled its co-op action RPG Project Dagger after years in development.

The news was broken to investors in early April, but recently spotted by Twitter user MauroNL3.

According to the studio, the game was canceled as a ā€œresult of re-analysis of the development plansā€. This re-analysis lead to ā€œunsatisfactory results of the evaluation of the scope and commercial potentialā€ of the game.

With the cancellation of Project Dagger, People Can Fly says its consolidated financial results for 2023 are expected to drop by around $16.9 million. Itā€™s standalone balance is expected to drop by $19.7 million.

Project Dagger was originally slated to be published by Take-Two Interactive, but when the agreement was ended in 2022, People Can Fly announced its plans to self-publish the game.

Flizzyy has reached out to People Can Fly for comment on what the projectā€™s cancellation means for employees at the studio. As of publishing, no response has been received.
